February 24, 2006: We receive an e-mail from our recruiter stating that he has received and is looking at our applications and that he mailed us a packet requesting information about our skills/experiences and some extra paperwork. It is due March 15.

February 25, 2006:Holly receives a letter stating that her application has been submitted and gives information about logging into her "Applicant Toolkit."

February 27, 2006: Both of us received our packets with more forms and skills addenda.

March 1, 2006: We submitted our addenda and other forms and had our interviews (both individual and couple) with our recruiter!

March 6, 2006: Our applications are (temporarily) withdrawn by our recruiter to be reactivated just before they can be submitted to DC.

April 27, 2006: Our applications are re-activated for the upcoming nominations.
33 days later
May 30, 2006: We find out that we weren't placed in the April-June quarterly nominations.

June 6, 2006: Out applications are again withdrawn.

August 2, 2006: Our applications are re-activated once more.

August 23, 2006: We receive a call from our recruiter offering us a nomination!

August 28, 2006: We receive an e-mail saying that we are not legally cleared until they receive a faxed copy of our marriage license or are informed of when we are getting married. Paul faxed it promptly!

September 5, 2006: We got our medical packets in the mail!

October 20, 2006: We had our appointment for our physical exams at the DOD hospital at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

November 18, 2006: After realizing signatures and information were missing from our medical packets, we mailed them back to Fort Leonard Wood.

November 27, 2006: We mailed off our dental packets.
10 days later
December 7, 2006: We got our medical packets back from Fort Leonard Wood with the missing signatures and information and overnighted them the next day.

December 8, 2006: Holly received her entire dental packet back in the mail along with a letter stating that she need a panorex x-ray that is less than a year old and to receive and document treatment for bruxism.

December 11, 2006: Holly mailed her corrected dental packet and x-rays back to the Peace Corps using the overnight Fed-Ex envelope they provided.

December 12, 2006: Our toolkits are updated to state that they received our medical packets.

December 15, 2006: Holly is dentally cleared!

January 11, 2007: Holly is medically cleared!

February 2, 2007: Holly e-mails her final transcript to her placement officer.
21 days later
February 23, 2007: Holly is contacted by her placement officer to ask for more information about her teaching experience and we're told we'll be sent invitations early the following week.
7 days later
March 2, 2007: We receive an e-mail from our placement officer telling us we were accepted as secondary ed English teachers and that we should receive an invitation in the mail in a few days.
4 days later
March 6, 2007: We receive our invitation to Nicaragua for TEFL Teacher Training leaving on April 30, 2007!
2 days later
March 8, 2007: We accept our invitations to Nicaragua.
11 days later
March 19, 2007: We send off our resumes and aspiration statements.
16 days later
April 4, 2007: We receive our staging kits and make flight arrangements to D.C. the next day.
